Mountain West Head Coaches Predict Second Place For SJSU Women's Soccer

Colorado Springs, Colo. --- The results of the 2016 Mountain West (MW) Preseason Women's Soccer Coaches' Poll are in and San José State is predicted to finish second out of 12 teams.
 
A voting panel of the league's 12 head coaches returned three first-place votes and a total of 102 points for the defending MW Tournament champion Spartans.
 
Only the 2015 regular-season MW champion San Diego State Aztecs were picked higher. The Aztecs received nine first-place votes and 119 points.
 
The second-place prediction is a five-spot boost from last year's prediction in the same poll.
 
San José State plays a preseason exhibition match this Sunday at UC Davis beginning at noon. The Spartans host UC Riverside in the regular-season opener on Friday, August 19, at 4:00 p.m.
 
Conference play for San José State begins Friday, September 23, on the road at UNLV.
