Soccer Gene Runs Strong In Bella Bowers

Aug. 8, 2017

Today fans get to meet Vista Murrieta, Calif., native Bella Bowers. She comes to the Spartans after captaining Vista Murrieta High in 2016-17.

Bowers was a forward that helped lead the attack for the very competitive Southern California Arsenal FC. Upon signing a National Letter-of-Intent with the Spartans head coach Lauren Hanson said her strengths include great vision, composure on the ball and height in the attack.

The soccer gene runs strong on Bella thanks to her father Sean who enjoyed a successful professional playing career in both indoor soccer and Major League Soccer. The 1992 National Professional Soccer League (NPSL) Rookie of the Year went on to be a four-time defensive MVP and a six-time all-star.

Stay tuned to and follow the women's soccer program on social media to meet the rest of the new Spartans in the days leading up to the first match on August 18.

Tickets for San José State home games will be available for purchase at the entrance gate. Admission for adults 18 and above costs $8 and youth ages 17-2 are just $5, while infants two and under are free. Fans can also visit the Spartan Ticket Office web page to buy tickets.
