Pacific Shuts Out Northeastern to Win Bay Area adidas Soccer Classic

The University of the Pacific women’s soccer team won the Second Annual Bay Area adidas Soccer Classic, beating undefeated Northeastern Univerisity, 3-0, at Spartan Stadium Sunday afternoon. This was the second shutout of the tournament for the Tigers and their fifth of the season.

Kristina Fetter opened the scoring with her goal at 15:16 off a pass from Lucera Gallegos. Gabby Olivares scored her second goal of the tournament about two minutes later to add to the Tigers’ lead. Kim Force added a goal to her earlier assist, when she scored off a Jami Corona-Flowers pass at 27:09.

The Tigers beat Gonzaga, 1-0, Friday night to put themselves in contention for the tournament title. Northeastern beat the Spartans, 5-3, in the second match Friday to vie for the title. San Jose State faced Gonzaga in the second game of the afternoon.
