SJSU Women's Soccer Lose To Cal Poly In Overtime

SAN JOSE, Calif. – In their second overtime match in two days, the San Jose State University women’s soccer team lost to Cal Poly 2-1 Sunday in San Luis Obispo. The win was the Mustangs first of the season.

Cal Poly’s Megan Schlegel goal 2:34 into the overtime period snapped the Mustangs losing streak of three straight games, and gave the team a 1-3 record on the season. The tough loss dropped the Spartans record to 1-2.

San Jose State scored the first goal of the day when Jeane Sunseri managed to sneak a shot past Cal Poly goalkeeper Greta Shirdon, 3:05 into the game.

The Mustangs Katie Bowe knotted up the match before the end of the first half, when she scored after recovering her own rebound off Spartan goalkeeper Annemarie Hennes.
