San Jose State Women's Soccer Shutout by Undefeated Saint Mary's

SAN JOSE, Calif.— Shauna Rech and Lucianne Crenshaw of Saint Mary’s College each scored two goals and an assist as the Gaels shut out the San Jose State women’s soccer team, 5-0, in a non-conference game at Spartan Stadium Sunday afternoon.

Rech and Crenshaw scored all four of their goals in the first half, giving the Gaels a 4-0 cushion going into the second period. Rech scored the Gaels first goal of the game 2:45 into the match, and following up with her second goal at 24:41.

Creshaw added to Saint Mary’s lead with her two goals less than seven minutes apart. Crenshaw’s first goal at 37:54 was assisted by Rech and Katie Frattone. Her second goal came at 44:14 with assists from Katie Stincinski and Jen Belzer.

The Spartans offense was held to just 5 shots the entire game with only one shot on goal. The loss drops the Spartans record to 1-5-0 on the season.

Saint Mary’s improves to 6-0-0 on the season.
