San Jose, Calif. --- The San José State women's soccer team played into double-overtime for the fifth time this year and came out tied with Montana, 0-0, on Friday at the SJSU Football Practice Field.

"It could be easy to be frustrated by not getting the results we want, but we aren't even going to worry about that at this point," said Spartans' head coach Lauren Hanson. "I'm very proud of this team for getting their fifth shutout and for having a defense ranked top-20 in the country for goals against."

Two of Paige Simoneau's three saves came in the second half of what turned out to be her fourth shutout of the year. Another 110 minutes without allowing a goal improves her Mountain West-leading goals against average to 0.43.

"My job is to make saves and keep my team in the game," Simoneau said. "I know the team has my back, so I try my best to make saves for when one of our shots eventually goes in."

The Spartans (2-2-3) outshot the Grizzlies (4-2-2) 15-6, but Carley McBeath and Dorthe Hoppius were the only two with a shot on goal. SJSU led Montana 8-2 in the shot column after 45 minutes.

"Goals are going to come," Hanson said. "We're just going to keep playing. I thought we played well today and created opportunities. But sometimes that's just the way it goes."

San José State is back in action on Sunday at noon versus Portland State. The match will be streamed live on the Mountain West Network, which is accessible through the women's soccer schedule page.
