Women's soccer is excited to introduce a talented group of freshmen coming in for the 2017 season, first up is Gabriella Hurtado.
AT SJSU: In her second season as a Spartan in 2018.
2017: Played in 17 matches and made 14 starts … Both goals on the year were game winners against Cal Poly (9/8) and Saint Mary’s (9/15) … Finished with two goals, one assist and five points … Put 7-of-17 shots on goal.
HIGH SCHOOL: A four-year varsity player at La Mirada (Calif.) High School who was part of four consecutive Suburban League championship teams … A two-time California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) champion … Scored 18 goals and had 10 assists as a senior, guiding the team to the 2017 CIF Division IV state championship semifinal match … A 2017 All-CIF Southern Section choice … Selected to the Press-Telegram First Team following both junior and senior year … Given the “Matador Award” at the conclusion of 2016 signifying the coaches’ choice for best all-around player … Voted as the team’s most valuable player in 2017.
