Three Level 10 Gymnasts Sign With San Jose State

San Jose, Calif.Aubrey Lee, from Reno, Nev., Casey McCord from The Woodlands, Texas, and Thomasina Wallace from Pomona, Calif., have signed National Letters-of-Intent to compete for the San Jose State women’s gymnastics team beginning with the 2009 season, as announced by Spartan head coach Wayne Wright.

Lee is a Level 10 gymnast at Flips USA Gymnastics in Reno. At the 2007 Level 10 Nationals, she placed 45th in the all-around in the Senior “B” group. Lee placed 11th in the all-around at the 2006 Region I Level 10 competition. She was the 2005 Bar State Champion and placed second on the floor and beam.

McCord competes as a Level 10 gymnast at WGA-Texans Gymnastics. She placed seventh in the all-around at the Texas Level 10 State Championships. McCord medaled on the vault and beam at the Level 10 Regionals. In 2004, she was the Level 9 State Beam Champion.

Wallace competes for Charter Oak Gymnastics at Level 10. She was the 2007 Region I Bar Champion in the Senior “A” group. In 2006, Wallace placed 14th in the all-round at the Region I Level 10 competition. She was also second on the vault and third at the bars at the state championships that year.

“I am thrilled and excited about these three outstanding student-athletes joining the Spartan women’s gymnastics program,” said Wright. “They are very talented gymnasts and will have an immediate impact on our team. All three have the opportunity to compete for all-around spots in their first season.”
