Women's Gymnastics Signs Two

San Jose Holly Partridge from Torrance, Calif., and Katie Lindsey from Colorado Springs, Colo., have signed National Letters-of-Intent to compete for the San Jose State women’s gymnastics team beginning with 2010 season, as announced by Spartan head coach Wayne Wright.

Partridge competes for the American Gymnastics Academy.  She won the vault and all-around titles at the 2008 Level 9 Western National Championships in St. Louis, Mo.  She scored a 9.35 on the vault and a 37.575 in the all-around in her victories.  Partridge was second on the beam at 9.4.  At the 2008 Level 9 State Championships, she finished first on the vault (9.4), bars (9.45) and all-around (36.775) to qualify for the regional championships.  There, Partridge finished first on vault (9.475), bars (9.625) and the all-around (37.550).

Lindsey competes for the Colorado Aerials in Colorado.  At the 2008 Level 10 Regional Championships, she finished third on the bars (9.55) and 11th in the all-around (35.775).  At the 2008 Level 10 Colorado Championships, Lindsey was eighth in the all-around (36.625).  In 2007, she finished second on the bars and in the all-around and fourth on the floor and beam a the regional championships.

“I am very excited that Holly and Katie are joining the Spartans women’s gymnastics program,” said Wright.  “They are very talented gymnasts and will have an immediate impact on our team.  Both have the opportunity to compete for all-around spots in their first season.”
