Women's Gymnastics Signs Two Top All-Arounders For 2012

San Jose-Cami Guyer from Fall City, Wash., and Kiley Field from San Jose, have signed National Letters-of-Intent to compete for the San Jose State women's gymnastics team beginning with the 2012 season, announced Spartan head coach Wayne Wright.

Guyer currently competes for Gymnastics East in Bellevue, Wash.  She finished 22nd in the all-around at the 2010 Junior Olympics in Dallas.  Guyer was second in the all-around at the Level 10 state and regional championships as well.  In 2009, she qualified for the Junior Olympics but did not compete.

Field competes for Gold Coast Gymnastics.  She finished third in the all-around at the 2010 Level 10 state championships.  At that meet, Field was second on the beam and fourth on the floor.  At the 2010 Level 10 Regional, she was seventh on the floor and 15th in the all-around.  In 2009, she was first on the beam at two meets - Winter Invitational and Cactus Cooler in Las Vegas.  Field qualified for regionals but was unable to compete due to an injury not related to gymnastics.

"I am really excited to have these two fine young athletes coming to San Jose State," said Wright. "Kiley is a local athlete and knows SJSU gymnastics well.  She is a talented all-around gymnast and a strong vaulter and tumbler.  Cami comes from a great gym, following in the footsteps of former Spartans Kelli Fournier and Jessica Khoshnood.  An all-around gymnast, Cami is exciting to watch."
