San Jose, Calif.—Ellie Pascoe-Long, a Level 10 vault champion from Eugene, Ore., and Josalyn Ray, a Level 10 vault champion from Chicago, Ill., have signed National Letters-of-Intent to compete for the San José State University women’s gymnastics team starting with the 2016 season, as announced by head coach Wayne Wright.
Pascoe-Long is a Level 10 gymnast at the National Academy of Artistic Gymnastics (NAAG) in Eugene, Ore. She is a two-time Level 10 Oregon state vault champion and Region 2 vault champion. She competed at the Level 10 Junior Olympic Nationals in 2013 and 2014. Pascoe-Long also won the floor at the 2014 Region 2 Championships. Over the past two years, she has won the vault title at 10 of the 16 meets she has competed.
Ray is a Level 10 gymnast at M&M Gymnastics in New Berlin, Wis. She finished tied for seventh on vault at the 2014 Junior Olympic National Championships and is the two-time Wisconsin state vault champion. Ray finished second in the all-around at the 2014 state championships and fourth at the Regional 4 Championships. In 2013, she won state titles on the vault and floor and in the all-around.
“Ellie and Josalyn are both strong and powerful athletes that will make an immediate impact on our team, especially on vault and floor. They are great students, and I look forward to them joining our team next fall,” said Wright.
