Bodus Named Women's Gymnastics Assistant Coach

San Jose—Amy Bodus has been named an assistant coach for the San Jose State women’s gymnastics team. Wayne Wright, the Spartans head coach, made the announcement.

Most recently, Bodus was an assistant coach at Ball State University for the 2005-06 season. She was a recruiting coordinator for the squad, and also coordinated and implemented a booster club to promote Ball State Gymnastics.

Bodus was a four-year letter winner for the Cardinals and competed on all four events. She was a three-time second team All-Mid American Conference selection, a 2002 Academic All-MAC honoree and a two-time MAC Academic Honor Roll selections. Bodus was a member of the 2002 MAC championship team.

No stranger to coaching, Bodus also coached at Cole Academy in Muncie, Ind., and began her coaching career at Salto Gymnastics in Waukesha, Wis.

“I am really pleased to have Amy join our coaching staff,” said Wright. “She brings valuable collegiate experience as both a coach and competitor to our team.”

A 2004 graduate of Ball State, Bodus earned a bachelor of science degree in elementary education and a Master of Arts degree in physical education from Ball State in December 2005.
