Alyssa Telles-Nolan from Albuquerque, N.M., has signed a National Letter-of-Intent to compete for the San Jose State women’s gymnastics team beginning with the 2010 season as announced by Spartan head coach Wayne Wright.

Telles-Nolan competes for Gold Cup Gymnastics School and graduated from Eldorado High School, both in Albuquerque. She is the 2009 All-Around Champion in New Mexico and placed 10th in the all-around at the 2009 Region 3 Championships. Telles-Nolan qualified for the 2008 Junior Olympics after placing fourth on the bars and seventh in the all-around at the 2008 Region 3 Championships.

In other competitions this year, Telles-Nolan won the bars and floor at the Alamo Classic Fiesta Jam. She also visited the Bay Area for the 2009 Spirit of the Flame Challenge hosted by the West Valley Gymnastics Club. Telles-Nolan finished fourth on the bars and 10th in the all-around at the meet.

“We are very excited to have Alyssa join our team this fall,” said Wright. “She will be a great addition to our team, especially in the all-around.”

Telles-Nolan joins Holly Partridge from Torrance, Calif., and Kate Lindsey from Colorado Springs, Colo., as the signing class for this year.
