10 Gymnasts Honored As MPSF All-Academic Scholar Athletes

Woodland, Calif.--The San José State women's gymnastics team leads the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation with 10 gymnasts being honored as MPSF All-Academic Scholar Athletes.

The 10 gymnasts honored are the most ever for the Spartans in one year.  Seniors Alyssa Kaschak and Marissa Unpingco won their fourth academic all-conference honors.  Amy Bellingham and Hannah Gilbert earned their third honors, while Allison Bellingham picked up her second award. Alisa Bogdan, Rachel Heinl, Maddie Herr, Erica Matos and Kaitlin Won were honored for the first time in their careers.

To receive the honor, gymnasts must have a 3.00 or better grade point average, be a sophomore academically, complete at least one full academic year at the institution prior to this season and compete in 50 percent or more of the institution's competitions.
