Nine Gymnasts Honored For Academics By MPSF

Woodland, Calif.--Nine San José State University women's gymnasts were honored by the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation as they received MPSF All-Academic Scholar-Athlete recognition, as announced by MPSF Executive Director Al Beaird.

The nine gymnasts honored matched last year's number honored and was the second-highest number honored on a team. Senior and MPSF Gymnast of the Year Cami Guyer and senior Kiley Field each earned her fourth academic all-conference honor. Senior Alyssa Montalban and juniors Alyssa Kaschak and Marissa Unpingco earned their third honors. Amy Bellingham and Hannah Gilbert earned their second academic honors, while Allison Bellingham and Gabrielle Kambur were honored for the first time in their careers.

To receive the honor, gymnasts must have a 3.00 or better grade point average, be a sophomore academically, complete at least one full academic year at the institution prior to this season and compete in 50 percent or more of the institution's competitions.
