Women's Gymnastics At WAC Championships Saturday Night

The Spartan women's gymnastics team competes Saturday evening at the 2010 Western Athletic Conference Championships hosted by Cal State Fullerton at Titan Gym. The meet begins at 6 p.m.

San Jose State will start the meet on bars, followed by beam, a bye, floor, vault and end the meet with a bye.

Live scoring from the meet will be available. A link to the scoring can be found on the Spartan web site under "Live".

Last year, San Jose State finished fourth with a 194.875 at the WAC Championships. The best finish at the championships for the Spartans came in 2008 when the team was second with a 194.725, just .200 behind champion Boise State.

San Jose State scored its best team score of the year in a home meet against Stanford and California with a 195.075. The Spartans have scored a 193.000 or better in six meets this season.

On Monday, the Spartans will await word if they will make the NCAA West Regional for the third consecutive season. The team enters the weekend ranked 36th in the country in RQS, and the top-36 teams advance to regional competition on Saturday, April 10.
