San Jose, Calif.—San José State women’s gymnast Maddie Herr has been named the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Gymnast of the Week for her performances last week at the team’s tri-meet at Boise State with Southern Utah.
Herr recorded a 39.350 to tie for second in the all-around at the tri-meet. Her career-high all-around score ties for the seventh highest in San José State history, tying former Spartans Thomasina Wallace and Cami Guyer. Her 39.350 all-around score ties for the highest all-around score in the MPSF this season.
Herr led the Spartans on vault with a 9.850 and bars with a 9.875. She added a 9.800 on beam and a 9.825 on floor.
The Spartans scored a season-high 195.350 at the tri-meet, the 12th-highest score in school history.
San José State travels to Sacramento State this weekend for the MPSF Championships on Saturday, March 19, beginning at 6 p.m. inside The Nest.
