Wallace Earns WAC Specialist Of The Week

     San Jose State's Thomasina Wallace has been named the Verizon Wireless Western Athletic Conference Specialist of the Week for March 8-14.

     Wallace, a sophomore from Pomona, Calif. (Diamond Ranch HS) scored a career-high 9.900 on beam to win the event in a dual meet against Utah State. The mark also tied the San Jose State school individual record on the apparatus.

     Wallace also won the title on bars with a 9.900, and placed second on vault with a 9.800. Wallace won the all-around title with a 39.325, and has now scored a 9.900 or better on all four events in under two years.

     The San Jose State women's gymnastics team faces Boise State on the road on March 19 before they head to the WAC Championship in Fullerton, Calif., on March 27.
