The Spartan women's gymnastics team is currently 34th in the national rankings with a 194.280 regional qualifying scoring (RQS) through March 6.
The top-36 teams ranked by RQS will advance to one of six NCAA Regionals on Saturday, April 2. The West Regional will be hosted by Oregon State.
"Our goal this season is to finish in the top 36," said Spartan head coach Wayne Wright. "I feel really good about where we are right now. What really matters is how you finish the season, and we are working really hard to be at regionals."
On the four apparatus, San Jose State is 32nd on vault (48.680), 35th on bars (48.615), 39th on beam (48.160) and 27th on floor (48.895).
Individually, Thomasina Wallace is 21st in the country in the all-around with a 29.145 RQS and 34th on the bars with a 9.850 RQS.
San Jose State competes at Cal State Fullerton this Friday night at 7 p.m., before hosting the 2011 WAC Women's Gymnastics Championships on Saturday, March 19 at The Event Center.
Tickets for the 2011 WAC Women's Gymnastics Championships are now on sale through the Spartan Athletics Ticket Office. The championships will be held on March 19 at The Event Center. Fans can call (408) 924-SJTX (7589) or 1-877-SJSU-TIX (757-8849) to order tickets.
Fans can choose one of two options for tickets. Reserved tickets are $10 per adult, while youth 12 and under are $7. General admission prices are $8 for an adult and $5 for youth 12 and under. Students from participating institutions with a valid student ID can purchase discounted general admission tickets for $5.
