The Spartan women's gymnastics team returns to competition this Sunday afternoon with a meet at Sacramento State beginning at 2 p.m., inside the Hornets Nest. Live stats will be available on www.hornetsports.com with a link on www.sjsuspartans.com under "Live Stats."
San Jose State is coming off a 193.050 performance last weekend at Oregon State, while Sacramento State scored a 191.675 last Friday night in a home meet against Denver.
The two teams faced each other earlier on January 28 in a dual meet at Spartan Gym. San Jose State won 193.425-190.000. Thomasina Wallace swept every event title and the all-around title that night. Julia Greer tied for first on beam, and Katie Valleau tied for first on floor.
National Rankings: San Jose State fell to 32nd this week in the team standings with a 194.085 regional qualifying score (RQS). The top-36 teams in the country will qualify for the NCAA Regionals on Saturday, April 2. In event standings, the Spartans are 30th o vault (48.680), 32nd on bars (48.595), 41st on beam (47.985) and tied for 21st on floor (48.895).
Individually, Katie Valleau is tied for 30th on the floor at 9.845, while Thomasina Wallace is 24th in the all-around at 39.025.
2011 WAC Championships Ticket Information: Tickets for the 2011 WAC Women's Gymnastics Championships are now on sale through the Spartan Athletics Ticket Office. The championships will be held on March 19 at The Event Center. Fans can call (408) 924-SJTX (7589) or 1-877-SJSU-TIX (757-8849) to order tickets.
Fans can choose one of two options for tickets. Reserved tickets are $10 per adult, while youth 12 and under are $7. General admission prices are $8 for an adult and $5 for youth 12 and under. Students from participating institutions with a valid student ID can purchase discounted general admission tickets for $5.
