Women's Gymnasts Hosts UC Davis, Brown On Senior Day

March 2, 2016

This Sunday, the San José State women's gymnastics team hosts UC Davis and Brown in the final home meet of the season at 2 p.m. inside The Event Center.

All seniors competing on Sunday from the three teams will be honored after the meet, with a special presentation for Spartan seniors Allison Bellingham, Amy Bellingham, Hannah Gilbert, Maddie Herr, Alyssa Kaschak and Marissan Unpingco.

San José State gymnastics alumni will also be honored prior to the meet.  All former Spartan men's and women's gymnasts and coaches are encouraged to attend the meet.  We ask that alums arrive by 1:45 p.m., so that they have the opportunity to walk out with the team during introductions.

This is the third of four meetings between the Spartans and Aggies.  The two teams started the season competing at the NorCal Classic hosted by the Spartans on January 10.  The Aggies won that matchup 192.700-191.800.  The Spartans then traveled to Davis for a dual meet on February 5.  UC Davis won by a slim margin - 194.375-194.225.  The two teams will also compete at the MPSF Championships on Saturday, March 19, at Sacramento State.

This is the first meet between the Spartans and Bears since the 2013 season.  That year, the two teams competed against each other twice in a week, with the Spartans winning both meetings, 194.550-189.900 on Feb. 15 at The Event Center, and 195.000-189.350 on Feb. 18 at California.
