Gymnastics Travels To Sacramento State Friday

After sweeping the event titles last weekend, the Spartan women's gymnastics team is looking for another sweep this Friday night at Sacramento State.  The meet begins at 7 p.m., at the Hornet's Nest.  Live stats from the meet will be available at www.hornetsports.com or on the Spartan web site under "Live Stats".

This is the second of three times this month the two teams compete against each other.   The teams were part of a quadrangular meet at Stanford on February 7, where the Hornets had a 193.225, and the Spartans a 192.800.  Next week, the two teams will compete with UC Davis at Spartan Gym on Friday, February 26.

Sacramento State score a season-best 193.850 last weekend in a meet at Boise State with Seattle Pacific.  Hornet Jasmine Lipka is the WAC Specialist of the Week after finishing second on the floor last week with a 9.900.

San Jose State swept all four event titles in their meet last Friday against Cal State Fullerton.  Lily Swann won the vault, Katie Merritt the bars, Shanice Howard the beam and Tiffany Louie the floor.  The Spartans also received its best floor score of the year with a 49.050.
