Gymnastics Host Sacramento State, Wisconsin-Stout Friday

San Jose State returns to Spartan Gym for its second home meet of the season. The Spartans will face Sacramento State and Wisconsin-Stout at 7 p.m., this Friday.

The Spartans enter the triangular meet with a perfect 5-0 mark on the season and a 2-0 record among Western Athletic Conference foes. Friday night’s meet marks the second time in eight days that the Spartans and Hornets will compete against each other. Last Friday night, San Jose State defeated Sacramento State by just 0.050, 192.800-192.750.

Senior Raylyn Cardeno has won the last two meets on the vault. She won at Sacramento State this past Friday with a season-best 9.825. Cardeno added a 9.600 on floor.

Two others won individual events against the Hornets. Leah Bigelow won the beam with a season-high 9.725, while Veronica Porte tied for first on the floor with a 9.775.
