Gymnastics Hosts Sacramento State Friday Night

The San José State women's gymnastics team returns to The Event Center Friday evening for the second meet in a week as the team hosts Sacramento State at 7 p.m.

The two teams competed this past Sunday at the NorCal Classic hosted by San José State.  The Spartans look to improve upon the 191.800 team score from Sunday's meet.   The Hornets finished third with a 194.325 score.

Spartan freshman Ellie Pascoe-Long led the team on the vault (9.725) and the floor (9.850) and was named the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Women's Gymnastics Newcomer of the Week.

The Spartan floor team recorded the highest SJSU team score of the night with a 48.950.  Kaitlin Won added a 9.800, while Haleigh Shepard and Maddie Herr each scored a 9.775.

Tickets are available at the door for $7 for adults, $5 for youth and $3 for gymnasts in club gear.  Doors to The Event Center open at 5:45 p.m.
