Gymnastics Competes At Flips Invitational Friday Night

After winning its first meet of the season, the San Jose State women's gymnastics team looks for more success this Friday night at the Flips Invitational in Reno, Nev. The Spartans face Boise State and Sacramento State. The meet begins at 7 p.m., at the Grand Sierra Resort.

San Jose State won its opening meet of the year this past Sunday, defeating host UC Davis, CS Fullerton and Wisconsin-Whitewater. The team scored a 191.800, while Thomasina Wallace and Lily Swann captured individual titles. Wallace won the bars and the all-around, while Swann and Wallace tied for first on the vault.

This is the first meet of the year for Boise State and Sacramento State. The Broncos are the defending Western Athletic Conference champions, while the Hornets finished second at the WAC meet last year.
