The San Jose State women's gymnastics team travels to Berkeley, Calif., this Friday night for a triangular meet with California and UC Davis. The meet begins at 7 p.m., inside Haas Pavilion where admission is free. Fans who cannot attend the meet can follow live scoring on www.CalBears.com.
The Spartans return to action after finishing second at UC Davis this past Sunday. The team scored a 190.600 at the meet with the floor team scoring the best apparatus score at 48.200.
Individually, Katie Merritt won the vault with a 9.700, while Thomasina Wallace won the bars with a 9.800. Lily Swann was the only Spartan all-arounder and scored a 38.675 including a 9.775 on floor. Wallace and Aubrey Lee led the team on the beam with a 9.700, while Katie Valleau had a team-best 9.825 on floor.
San Jose State will face UC Davis for the second time in six days and the second of three times this season. The Aggies will visit Spartan Gym on Friday, February 11, as well. The Spartans are facing California for the only time this season.
Next week, San Jose State opens the home portion of its schedule with a triangular meet on Friday, January 21. The Spartans compete against Utah State and Wisconsin-Eau Claire inside Spartan Gym beginning at 7 p.m. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m.,
