San Jose, Calif.-- The San Jose State women's gymnastics team scored a season-best 194.500 Friday night in a tri-meet at The Event Center. Boise State won the meet with a 196.400, followed by Iowa State at 195.725.
Kaitlin Won led the Spartans with a 39.100 in the all-around, a career-best 9.875 on bars and a 9.800 on beam. Ellie Pascoe-Long had a career-best 9.875 on vault, while Taylor Chan recorded a 9.875 on floor to lead the Spartans.
The Spartans started the meet on vault with a 48.725, led by Pascoe-Long's 9.875. Kaprece Nadonza had a 9.750, followed by Chan at 9.725, Chelsey Andrada at 9.700, Won at 9.675 and Josalyn Ray at 9.600.
Rotating to bars, San José State scored a 48.775 for the second consecutive week, led by Won at 9.875. Nadonza received a 9.800, then Chan at 9.750, Stephanie Relova at 9.725, Madilyn Probst at 9.625 and Pascoe-Long at 9.125.
The beam team scored a 48.275, led by Won's 9.800. Relova was next at 9.725, Andrada at 9.650, Probst at 9.660, Michelle Shalit at 9.500 and Chan at 9.200.
The floor team rounded out the San José State scoring with a 48.725. Chan recorded the third 9.875 by a Spartan on the night. Pascoe-Long had a 9.825, Won at 9.750, Ray at 9.750, Andrada at 9.522 and Leah Perrino at 9.350.
The Spartans travel to the Capital City next Friday, February 16, for a tri-meet at Sacramento State with the Hornets and Seattle Pacific. The meet begins at 7 p.m., inside Hornet Gym.
