Six Women’s Gymnasts Receive 12 All-MPSF Honors

Katie Won and Taylor Chan each received three honors each to lead the team.

SJSU: Second year at San José State.

2018: MPSF Vault Champion…first team All-MPSF on beam…competed on vault, beam and floor in all 11 meets…career-best 9.875 on vault to win the MPSF title…scored a 9.775 on vault twice – at Sacramento State with Seattle Pacific and at Arizona with Air Force and North Carolina…on beam, scored a season-best 9.875 at Sacramento State with Seattle Pacific…added a 9.850 on beam at the MPSF Championships…scored a 9.800 or better on beam in five of the last six meets of the season…career-best 9.825 on floor at the MPSF Championships…had a 9.800 on floor twice – at Utah State with Sacramento State and a home meet with Air Force, Central Michigan and Seattle Pacific.

2017: Competed on beam and floor for the Spartans in all 11 meets…first team All-MPSF honoree on beam…averaged 9.607 on beam and a 9.632 on floor…won the beam title at Air Force with a career-best 9.825…added a 9.800 on beam against Sacramento State and a quad meet at UC Davis…seven meets on beam with a 9.700 or better…received a 9.775 on floor at the Metroplex Challenge and at Arkansas…scored a 9.700 or better on floor in eight meets.

CLUB:  Competed for North Bay Athletic Association and coach Susie Goodmanson…placed third on beam and tied for fifth on floor at the Region 1 Level 10 Championships…second in the all-around at the Gold Country Classic and won the floor.

HIGH SCHOOL:  Graduated from Benicia High School in 2016.

PERSONAL:  A kinesiology major…would like to work in physical therapy…2018 Arthur Ashe, Jr. Sports Scholar…San José State Dean’s Scholar…NACGC/W Scholastic All-American…MPSF All-Academic Scholar-Athlete…likes traveling and shopping…Chelsey Rose Andrada was born in Walnut Creek, Calif.
