The MPSF Champions honored all academic and athletic award winners.


Eight Gymnasts Honored As Academic All-MPSF Honorees

Four Spartans received the honor for the first time.

SJSU: Fourth season at San José State.

2018: Competed at the NorCal Classic on beam before a knee injury ended her season…scored a 9.725 on the beam at that meet.

2017:  Beam specialist for the Spartans…competed in nine meets…had a 9.740 RQS and a 9.447 average…season and career-best 9.800 at Air Force…after a tough start to the season, averaged a 9.704 over the final seven meets…recorded a 9.700 or better in six meets…had a 9.775 in a home meet with UC Davis and the MPSF Championships.

2016:  Competed in all 11 meets on beam and 10 meets on floor…season-best 9.775 on beam at Seattle Pacific with Alaska Anchorage…scored a 9.700 or better in five meets…on floor, season-high 9.800 in a meet with Brown and UC Davis…received a 9.775 at Stanford with California…9.700 or better in four meets…Academic All-MPSF.

2015: Did not compete in a meet for the Spartans.

CLUB: Competed for Gymcats and coaches Cassie Rice, Jill Preston and Kim Snape...competed at the 2013 Level 10 Junior Olympic Nationals, placing 15th on the bars (9.400)...placed third on vault (9.600) and fourth in the all-around (37.750) at the 2013 Region 1 Championships...second on beam (9.350) and fourth on the floor (9.300) at the 2014 Nevada State Championships.

HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated in 2014 from Foothill High School in Henderson, Nev.

PERSONAL: Majoring in applied mathematics with a concentration in economics and actuarial science…San José State Dean’s Scholar…three-time NACGC/W Scholastic All-American…two-time Academic All-MPSF honoree…team representative to San José State SAAC…like baking and hiking…Alice Michelle Bogdan was born in Salt Lake City, Utah.
