Women's Golf 15th After First Round At Las Vegas Collegiate Invitaitonal

Boulder City, Nev.-Jennifer Brumbaugh shot the low round of the day for the San Jose State women's golf team at the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown Monday.  The Spartans ended the first round tied for 15ht at 307.

 

Brumbaugh finished the day with a 75 on a round that included two birdies.  Madeleine Ziegert and Stephanie Gibri each shot a 77 on Monday.  Gibri made a team-high four birdies on the day, but a double-bogey on the ninth hole, her final hole of the day, left her at 77.  Jody Ho shot a 78 after starting her round with eight consecutive pars.  Katrina Delen-Briones shot a 79 to round out the Spartan scoring.

 

"We did not take advantage of birdie opportunities early in our round and did not handle the windy conditions at all today," said Spartan head coach John Dormann.  "It got very windy during our round, and we could not make the adjustments in our play."

 

Second round action begins Tuesday at 7:30 a.m.
