Willhoite Shoots Even-Par For Women's Golf

Stanford, Calif.-Cha Cha Willhoite shot an even-par 71 Saturday afternoon, and she and Regina De Guzman are tied for 36th at the Stanford Intercollegiate hosted by Dr. Condoleezza Rice.  San Jose State is now 15th after shooting a 298 at the par-71 Stanford Golf Course.

Starting on #10, Willhoite began the day with a birdie, par and then two bogeys to finish the first nine holes at +1.  She then made birdies on her 10th and 12th holes of the day (#1 & #3) to go to -1.  A bogey on the par-4 fifth hole put her back at even par where she stayed for the rest of her round after finishing with four consecutive pars.

De Guzman shot a 73 (+2) in her second round.  She started the day with 10 consecutive birdies before a bogey on her 11th hole (#2) of the day.  De Guzman then birdied #4 to go back to even before bogeys on holes #5 and #9 finished her day.

Kathleen Rojas shot a 76 with two birdies on her round and is 59th overall.  Megan Osland shot a 78 with 13 pars on her day and is 74th overall.  Rachelle Reali shot an 81 after going +8 on her final nine holes of her round and is 76th.

San Jose State was five shots better in the second round, shooting a 298.  The team is just two shots behind Oregon and seven shots behind Harvard.  The team starts the final round on Sunday at 8:15 a.m., off of #10.
