Women's Golf Prepares For Busy Week

The Spartan women's golf team will have a busy few days over the next week.  The team recently added a dual match against Stanford this Friday, October 22, at the Stanford Golf Course.  The teams will tee-off at 1 p.m., in a six, count four scoring format.  Playing for San Jose State will be Katrina Delen-Briones, Madeleine Ziegert, Dorothy Schwartz, Jennifer Brumbaugh, Stephanie Gibri and Tiffany Nichols.

The team then travels to Las Vegas this weekend for the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown at the Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nev., to be played next Monday-Wednesday, October 25-27.  The 17-team field includes Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado State, East Carolina, Idaho, Kent State, Louisville, Minnesota, Missouri, New Mexico, Oregon, San Diego State, UC Irvine, UNLV, Washington, Washington State and the Spartans.

Competing for the Spartans in Las Vegas will be Delen-Briones, Ziegert, Jody Ho, Brumbaugh and Gibri.  The teams begin teeing off at 7:30 a.m. on Monday and Tuesday, while a shotgun start goes off at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday.

This past Monday and Tuesday, Gibri and Rachelle Reali participated at the Golf Mart/Lady Otter Invitational at the Black Horse Golf Course in Seaside.  Gibri finished in fourth place as she shot 78-75 for a 153 two-round total to finish fourth.  Reali shot 80-78-158 to finish tied for 11th.
