Moston Named WAC Women's Golfer Of The Month

DENVER San Jose State women’s golfer Erica Moston has been named the Western Athletic Conference Women’s Golfer of the Month for September.
Moston, a senior from Belmont, Calif. (Notre Dame HS), began the season with two top-six finishes in two tournaments played in September.  At the Ptarmigan Ram Fall Classic in Colorado, Sept. 8-9, Moston finished in sixth with a four-under 212 (71-72-69).   It was the highest finish by a player from the four WAC teams participating in the tournament.   Moston returned to Colorado, Sept. 22-24, for the Ron Moore Intercollegiate and finished third with a six-under par 210 (68-72-70) and helped San Jose State to a third place finish in the 13-team field.  Moston shot par or better in all six rounds she played last month, averaged 70.33 strokes per round and shot under-par in a tournament for the first time in her collegiate career.
Other women nominated included Iris Ocariza, Boise State; Taylor Siebert, Fresno State; Kayla Mortellaro, Idaho; Melanie De Leon, Nevada; and Suteera Chanachai, New Mexico State.

San Jose State returns to action at the Ken Youel Invitational in Honolulu, Hawaii, October 28-29.
