The San Jose State women's golf team competes the next two weeks in tournaments, starting with the Golfweek Women's Conference Challenge this Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.
The Spartans are one of 18 teams from 18 different conferences to compete in the 54-hole event to be played at the Red Sky Golf Club in Wolcott, Colo., just outside of Vail. Fifteen teams finished the 2009-10 season ranked in the top 75 of the Golfweek/Sagarin College Rankings.
Teams competing include: Arizona, Campbell, Chattanooga, Central Arkansas, Coastal Carolina, Denver, Harvard, Minnesota, Missouri State, Pepperdine, Sacramento State, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Tulane, UC Davis, UNLV, Virginia and the Spartans.
The Spartan lineup for the tournament includes Jennifer Brumbaugh, Katrina Delen-Briones, Jody Ho, Madeleine Ziegert and Tiffany Nichols. Nichols will be making her Spartan golf debut at this tournament.
