The San Jose State women's golf team travels to New Mexico this weekend for the 32nd Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational at the UNM Championship Course in Albuquerque, N.M.
The team will play 36 holes on Sunday and the final 18 holes on Monday with a shotgun start at 8 a.m., each day. The course will play at par 73 at 6,178 yards. Live scoring is available at www.golfstat.com.
The Spartan lineup for the tournament will be Madeleine Ziegert, Megan Osland, Tiffany Nichols, Rachelle Reali and Stephanie Gibri.
"We are a very young team heading to this tournament," said Spartan head coach John Dormann. "We had a good practice heading into this tournament that has a very good field. This is a good experience for this team, and we hope to improve from our previous play."
The 18-team field includes host New Mexico, Baylor, Campbell, Colorado, Colorado State, Denver, Iowa, Iowa State, North Texas, Northern Arizona, Northwestern, Pepperdine, San Diego State, TCU, UNLV, UTEP, Wyoming and the Spartans.
San Jose State won the team title in 1992 and 1993, while Tracy Hanson won the individual title in 1992. The Spartans also hold the record for the lowest first-round score a 286, set in 1994.
