Dana Dormann Receives Coaching Honor

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - San Jose State associate head coach Dana Dormann has been named the Coach of the Year for the Western Section as selected by the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) Teaching and Club Professional (T&CP) membership.

Dormann was one of five collegiate coaches to be selected for the award. The LPGA T&CP Executive Committee will select the overall national award winner in each category from among the section award winners. The national winners will be announced in the coming weeks.

Dormann begins her eighth season on the Spartan women's golf coaching staff.  She helped coach the 2010-11 team to its third consecutive Western Athletic Conference championship and a berth at the NCA West Regional.  A Spartan golfer from 1985-88, she was a member of the Spartans' 1987 NCAA Championship team and a three-time All-American.

Teacher of the Year - Suzy Whaley , TPC at River Highlands, Cromwell, Conn.
Coach of the Year - Kim Lewellen , University of Virginia, Charlottesville, Virg.

Southeast Section
