Inkster One Back At RICOH Women's British Open

SUNNINGDALE, England - Former Spartan Juli Inkster shot a two-under 70 Friday and is just one stroke behind the leaders at the RICOH Women’s British Open. Inkster has a two-day total of nine-under 135.

Yuri Fudoh of Japan and Ji-Yai Shin of South Korea each shot a 4-under 68 Friday to lead by one stroke and equal the halfway record of 10-under-par.

After a bogey-free round on Thursday, Inkster recorded five birdies on Friday on holes one, four nine, 14 and 18. However, she did record her first bogey of the tournament on the second hole and double-bogeyed the 12th hole. Inkster is aiming to become the oldest winner of a women’s major.

"It was a lot harder today," she said. "I kind of just managed my game today. The wind was going different ways."

Former Spartan Janice Moodie made the cut as she shot a 76 today for a two-day total of 145, +1 for the tournament. She is tied with 14 other players for 65th place.

Former Spartan Pat Hurst missed the cut by one stroke. She shot an even-par 72 for a two-day total of 146, +2. She tied with nine other players for 79th place.
