Spartan women’s golfer Megan Osland shot a three-under 68 Tuesday in the first round of the 2014 Canadian Women’s Amateur Championship at the Craigowan Oxford Golf & Country Club in Woodstock, Ontario.

Osland is in fifth-place, one shot behind a group of four players who each shot a 67 to lead the tournament.  Osland made birdies on holes #1, #4 and #11 and pars on the other 15 holes.  She is the only player in the top-20 to record a bogey-free round.

Play continues on Wednesday, and the field will be reduced to the low 70 players and ties for the final rounds on Thursday and Friday.  The champion earns exemptions into the Canadian Pacific Women’s Open and the U.S. Women’s Amateur.
