Women's Golf Tied For Ninth At NCAA Championships

Athens, Ga.—Jennifer Brumbaugh shot a one-under 71 and San Jose State shot a seven-over 295 at the third round of the NCAA Division I Women’s Golf Championships at the University of Georgia Golf Course.  The Spartans are tied for ninth with Oklahoma and Auburn.

Brumbaugh was the only Spartan under par on Thursday and is now tied for 33rd at four-over 220.  She made four birdies on her round, but bogeys on her 14th, 16th and 18th holes of the day found her at 71.

The Spartans started the day on #10, and Brumbaugh found herself one-under after the first hole.  She added another birdie on #15 to finish her first nine holes at -2.  Brumbaugh birdied her 11th hole (#2) before the bogeys on #5, #7 and #9, interspersed with a birdie on #6 ended her day at 71.

Regan De Guzman is one-under par for the tournament and tied for 11th after finishing with a 73 Thursday.  She finished the first nine holes of the day at one-under with a birdie on #15 on pars on the other eight holes.  At the turn, De Guzman bogeyed #1 and #2 before a birdie on #5 and made pars on three of her final four holes.

Kathleen Rojas shot a 74 on a round that she had just 25 putts.  She recorded two birdies and two bogeys and her only bad hole came on the par-5 #12 as she went for the green, came up short and put it in the water.  Rojas recorded a seven, two-over, for the hole.

Rachelle Reali shot a 77 on the round and is tied for 66th place at 225.  She had 13 pars and five bogeys on her round.  Megan Osland added a 79 and played the final nine holes at +1 with eight pars.
