Women's Golf 10th After Two Rounds

Athens, Ga.—After finishing the final holes of the second round Thursday morning, the San Jose State women’s golf team enters the third day of competition in 10th place after shooting a 303 in round two.  The team has a two-round total of 587, +11.

A second weather delay Wednesday night saw three Spartans back at the course Thursday to record their scores.   Regan De Guzman, the individual leader after day one, shot a 75 in the second round and is now tied for 10th at two-under par.  She finished her round Thursday morning with a birdie on #17 and a par on #18.

Rachelle Reali also finished her round Thursday morning with a birdie on the par-5 #18 and was one of three Spartans to shoot a 76 in the second round.  Reali begins the third round tied for 46th at 148. 

Jennifer Brumbaugh and Megan Osland  shot 76 in round two.  Brumbaugh is tied for 58th at 149.  Osland is tied for 110th at 156.  Kathleen Rojas recorded her 86 Thursday morning and now stands at 119 at 158.

USC set an NCAA Championships record on Wednesday by shooting a 276 in the second round and lead the championship at 16-under, a 12-shot leader over Alabama.  Stephanie Meadow from Alabama, the #1 player in the country, shot a 67 and is atop the individual leader board at 136 (-8).

San Jose State begins third round action Thursday at noon EDT/9 a.m. PDT.  The Spartans start from hole #10 with Vanderbilt and Arkansas.
