San Jose, Calif.--The San Jose State women's golf team makes its 21st regional appearance this week as the team travels to South Bend, Ind., for the NCAA Women's Golf South Bend Regional. The three days of action will take place at the Warren Golf Course on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, May 7-9.

San Jose State is seeded 12th at the regional and received an at-large bid. The top-six teams at the regional advance to the NCAA Championship, May 22-27, in Bradenton, Fla. The top-three individuals, not on an advancing team, also advance to the championship.

For the regional, the Spartan lineup consists of Megan Osland, Regan De Guzman, My Leander, Elizabeth Schultz and Kathleen Rojas.

The Spartans begin play Thursday morning, teeing off the 10th hole with Kent State and Louisville. The teams begin the first round at 8 a.m. EDT/5 a.m. PDT, at nine-minute intervals. Tee times for Friday and Saturday will be determined by order of finish.

The regional field consists of 18 teams and six individuals. Teams competing include Arizona, Duke, Oklahoma State, Wake Forest, UC Davis, Pepperdine, Tulane, Notre Dame, Purdue, Kent State, Louisville, San José State, North Carolina, Kentucky, Harvard, Troy, Eastern Kentucky and Youngstown State.

San Jose State has won two team regional titles -- 1994 and 1995. In 1994, the team was first out of 19 teams at West Regional played at the UNM Championship Golf Course in Albuquerque, N.M. The 1995 team tied for first with Arizona State at the Randolph-North course in Tucson, Ariz.

Madeleine Ziegert is the only Spartan player to ever win a regional title. She was the co-medalist at the 2010 West Regional held at the Stanford Golf Course and opened the tournament with a four-under 67.

Three could be a lucky number for the Spartan team this week. San Jose State is one of three Mountain West teams to make the NCAA Championship field -- UNLV and San Diego State will play at the St. George Regional. The Spartans are one of three California teams playing in South Bend, along with UC Davis and Pepperdine. Three Spartan players were named to All-MW teams -- Osland to the first team and De Guzman and Leander to the second team. Three players on the current Spartan team played at the 2013 NCAA Championship where San Jose State was tied for first after round one -- Osland, De Guzman and Rojas.

The other three regionals this weekend will be played in Raleigh, N.C., San Antonio, Texas, and St. George, Utah.
