Indianapolis, Ind.-After winning their third consecutive Western Athletic Conference title, the San Jose State women's golf team will play next at the NCAA West Regional, May 5-7, at the Washington National Golf Club. After winning the title, the Spartans received the automatic bid to qualify for the regional.
San Jose State is one of 24 teams playing at the West Regional. The top eight teams advance to the NCAA Championships, May 18-21, at the Traditions Club in Bryan, Texas. The top two individuals, not on an advancing team, also advance to the championships.
Teams participating at the West Regional include USC, Virginia, Arizona, Georgia, Tennessee, Pepperdine, Iowa State, UC Davis, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Carolina, Washington, Tulsa, Denver, San Diego State, BYU, New Mexico, Texas-San Antonio, Portland State, New Mexico State, San Jose State, Oral Roberts and UTEP.
"We are excited about the opportunity to continue our season at regionals," said Spartan head coach John Dormann. "We are continuing to improve each day. We learned last year that we have the ability to make it to nationals, a goal we have every year."
