Women's Golf Heads To Stanford's Peg Barnard Collegiate

San Jose State University completes its regular-season competing in the Peg Barnard California Collegiate tournament hosted by Stanford University, April 11-12, at the Stanford Golf Course.

The 36-hole tournament features a select group of West Coast teams honing their games before heading off to a conference championship later in the month.

The Spartans, who have six top-five finishes in eight tournaments this season, are playing in their third event in a 13-day span. San Jose State finished second at the MountainView Collegiate hosted by the University of Colorado in Tucson, Ariz., and was 12th ahead of two top-25 teams at the Ping/ASU Invitational hosted by Arizona State University.

Erica Moston, Cristina Corpus, Kimberly Punyasavatsut and Kanika Minocha will play for the Spartans. Moston is ranked 83rd, her highest of the season, and Corpus, 182nd, nationally by GolfStat in its April 9 individual rankings. San Jose State, ranked 38th nationally as a team by GolfStat, seeks to improve on last year's eighth place finish at the Peg Barnard.

There is no admission charge and free parking is available at the Stanford Golf Course.
