Half Moon Bay, Calif.-If the Spartans had a lucky number, "76" would be that number on Tuesday. Four of the five San Jose State women's golfers shot a 76 Tuesday at the final round of the Pacific Coast Intercollegiate at the Half Moon Bay Golf Links.
San Jose State finished the tournament in eighth place after shooting a 304 in the final round on Tuesday. Oregon won the event by one stroke over Texas A&M.
Madeleine Ziegert had her third top-20 finish of the season as she tied for 19th at 227. Jody Ho finished 26th at 229, while Jennifer Brumbaugh was 35th at 232. Rachelle Reali finished in 45th at 234, while Tiffany Nichols rounded out the Spartan team at 50th with a 236.
San Jose State now prepares for the 2011 Western Athletic Conference Women's Golf Championships, April 15-17 at the Longbow Golf Club in Mesa, Ariz. The Spartans begin their first round at 8:50 a.m. on the 15th and play with Idaho and Hawaii. Tee times for the next two days will be determined by the previous rounds results, with golfers beginning their rounds at 7:30 a.m.
