De Guzman Third, Women's Golf 4th After 1st Round

Kapalua, Hawaii—Regan De Guzman shot her best round of the season with a four-under 68 in the first round of the Anuenue Spring Break Classic and is currently third in the individual standings.  San Jose State is currently tied for fourth with Stanford at 294 after playing the first round at the Bay Course in Kapalua, Hawaii.

 

De Guzman made four birdies and an eagle on her round.  She made consecutive birdies on holes 13 and 14 and then eagled the par-5 15th.  She added birdies on #1 and #7 to finish at four-under.

 

Megan Osland shot a 74 on her round and is tied for 24th.  She started with three birdies in her first six holes, but five bogeys pushed her score to +2. 

 

Jennifer Brumbaugh shot a 77 on her round with three birdies, while Rachelle Reali had a 77 with birdies on #16 and 317.   Kathleen Rojas rounded out the Spartan scoring with a 78.

 

Second round action begins Tuesday morning with a shotgun start at 7:45 a.m. HT/10:45 a.m. PDT.  The Spartans will start on holes 1, 2, and 3 with Pepperdine, Washington and Arizona State.
