After playing three tournaments in the Bay Area this spring, the San Jose State women's golf team crosses the Pacific to play at the Anuenue Spring Break Classic at The Bay Course in Kapalua, Maui.
The three-day tournament runs March 23-25, and features 16 teams from all over the United States. Teams participating include - Brown, Gonzaga, Hawaii, Hawaii-Hilo, Louisville, Oregon, Oregon State, Portland State, Santa Clara, SMU, Texas, Texas-Pan American, UC Davis, UC Riverside, Xavier and the Spartans.
The Bay Course in Kapalua plays this week at 6,022 yards at par 72. Play begins each day with a 7:45 a.m. HDT/10:45 a.m. PDT shotgun start.
The Spartan lineup consists of Megan Osland, My Leander, Regan De Guzman, Kathleen Rojas and Elizabeth Schultz. Fanny Johansson will play as an individual. The team will play in foursomes with Oregon, Portland State and Brown on the first day on holes 8, 9, 10 and 11.
Last season, San Jose State finished fourth at Anuenue Spring Break Classic. Osland recorded a top-10 finish as she was sixth at three-over 219. She shot a three-under 69 in the final round.
