Women's Golf Shoots Even-Par In Win Over Princeton

San JoseFor the third time this season, the 25th-ranked San Jose State women’s golf team recorded a round of par or better as a team.  The team shot an even par 288 Friday afternoon in a dual match with Princeton at the Villages Golf Club in San Jose.  The Tigers finished with a 302 team score.

Three Spartans shot par or better in the win on the 6,300-yard, par 72 course.  Cristina Corpus led all golfers with a one-under par 71, for her fourth round under par this season.  Erica Moston shot a 72, her fourth round of even par golf this year.  Shraddhanjali Singh shot her third round of even par golf this season with a 72.

Jody Ho shot her best round of the season with a one-over par 73, while Madeleine Ziegert added a 75 for the Spartans.  Playing as individuals, Kanika Minocha and Katrina Delen-Briones each shot a 76.

For Princeton, Susannah Aboff shot a 74, followed by Marlow Boukis and Wonji Choi who each had a 75.  Kate Scarpetta added a 78, followed by Michelle Grilli at 79.  Playing as individuals, Maggie Boberg shot an 80, while Rachel Blum had an 81.

The Spartans compete next weekend, Saturday and Sunday, March 28 and 29, at the Mountain View Collegiate in Tucson, Ariz.
