Spartan Women’s Golf #25 in Latest Golf World Poll

New York, N.Y.For the first time this season, the San Jose State women’s golf team is ranked 25th in the Golf World/National Golf Coaches Association Division I Coaches’ Poll in the first poll of the 2009 spring season.

The Spartans entered the top-25 after winning the Aztec Invitational in the first tournament of the spring season and won the last tournament of the fall season, the Lamkin Grip Cal Poly Invitational.  Unfortunately, rain cancelled the Juli Inkster Spartan Invitational this past Monday and Tuesday.

Senior Erica Moston leads the team with a 71.86 scoring average and is currently 16th in the Golfstat Cup standings.

San Jose State next competes at the MountainView Collegiate in Tucson, Ariz., March 28 and 29.
