The San Jose State women’s golf program is proud to host the 2009 Juli Inkster Spartan Invitational featuring 82 golfers from 16 collegiate teams on March 2-3, at the Almaden Country Club in San Jose.
The two-day invitational features four top-25 teams according to the latest GolfStat rankings released on February 25 - #18 California, #22 San Jose State, #24 UC Irvine and #25 Stanford.
The Spartans are looking for their third consecutive team title after winning the Aztec Invitational in February and the Lamkin Grip Cal Poly Invitational in November.
California returns to the field of 16 teams to defend the title they won in 2008. The Golden Bears won that tournament by five shots over San Jose State.
The tournament begins Monday morning with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start and the second round will begin at the completion of the first. Tuesday’s round is scheduled for an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start. Any weather delays or changes to the schedule will be posted on www.sjsuspartans.com.
