Juli Inkster Spartan Invitational To Be Held Monday & Tuesday

The San Jose State women's golf team hosts the 2011 Juli Inkster Spartan Invitational this Monday and Tuesday, February 28 and March 1, at the Almaden Golf and Country Club in San Jose.

 

The two-day tournament features 12 teams including four top-30 teams according to the latest Golfstat rankings released on February 23 - #9 California, #22 UC Davis, #24 Colorado and #30 Washington.  California is the two-tie defending champion after winning the title in 2008 and 2010 (2009 was rained out.)

 

San Jose State hopes to make a good showing on its home course and key moving up in the top-10 after a sixth-place finish at the Peg Barnard Invitational. 

 

The tournament begins Monday morning with an 8:15 a.m. shotgun start with the second round beginning at the end of the first.  All players hope to play 36 holes on the first day.  Tuesday's round is set for an 8:15 a.m. shotgun start.  Any changes to the schedule will be posted on www.sjsuspartans.com.
